ACCEPTING HELP | SHORT FILM

"An ex serving soldier is being haunted by his PTSD. He is in denial and wont accept it"
Writer and Director, Matt Sandland approached me with a concept for this movie back in 2016. He wanted to shoot a film around the stigmas of PTSD, anexiety and depression in the forces, particularly in men. I was fascinated by this psychological drama and agreed to helping him create this film in order to raise awareness around the subject.
We actually shot most of the 'war scenes' in North Wales, close to an old Rock Mine. This location is reflective of a typical Middle Eastern landscape, empty and barren with endless views of rocky, rugged hills, the perfect backdrop for a military sequence.
Again, working with only a very small budget, we were limited to what practical effects we could afford. It often mean't compressing the images with longer lenses, shooting between mids and closeups, particularly during the explosive military scenes.
Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable film to work on and I'm fairly happy with what we achieved to create given the budget we had.
